Do I have to choose a provider?
LP&L won't be providing electricity service to Lubbock after retail electric competition launches in early 2024, but it will continue maintaining your poles and wires as your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU). You'll have the winter to choose a new provider, otherwise you'll be automatically enrolled as a customer with a default provider, and that service may not be the right choice for you. It's best that your find a provider you feel confident in well before the deadline so your transition is smooth. Our team's available 24/7 to help you do just that.
How soon can I start service?
The open enrollment period is Jan. 2024. You can learn about new providers and sign up for a plan in that time. If you haven’t signed up with a new provider by the end of open enrollment, you’ll be automatically enrolled as a customer with a default provider. However, you still have the option to sign up with your preferred provider after this date. Your service will be switched over from LP&L on your March billing cycle day automatically, so you don’t have to worry about contacting them once you’ve signed up with us.
How do I know how much my bill will be?
Your online account can show you how your usage is shaping up throughout the month. Sign into MyAccount to see when and where you're using the most. You can also sign up for budget alerts and weekly emails that'll give you a snapshot of your usage, so you always know what to expect.
How do I find the right plan for me?
It depends on the size of your home, how many people live there and when you use electricity the most. It may be best to keep it simple with a low fixed rate. Since you can save a lot of different ways with our plans, we’re always here to help you find the right one at 855-750-0899.
Do I have to sign a contract?
We offer both flexible month-to-month plans and term plans for up to 3 years. Many of our customers prefer fixed-rate plans because they offer guaranteed security against rising power prices. You’re free to choose whatever fits your situation best.
Can I pay my bill in person?
Yes. You can visit one of our 20 authorized payment centers in Lubbock and the surrounding area. And you can always pay by phone or online. We’re here for you 24/7.
