I'm moving. Can I take my service with me?

Yes! If you are moving to an area that we serve, you can transfer your TXU Energy service to your new home and keep us as your electricity provider. Schedule your move and transfer your service online or give us a call at 800-242-9113, and we’ll set up everything for you. When you move, you can review your current plan and explore new plan options that may be a better fit for your new home’s usage. If you’re moving to an area with a different Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU), we’ll help set you up on a new plan.

 

Can my service end date in my current home overlap with the service start date in my new home?

Yes. You can select overlapping dates so that you have electricity at both your current home and your new home during your move. You can set this up online or call us at 800-242-9113.

 

Do I need to be there when the power is turned on?

In most cases, you don’t need to be home when your TXU Energy service is turned on at your new address. Unless you have a traditional electric meter (instead of a smart meter), and it’s behind a locked gate or inside your home, you don’t need to be home.

 

How can I get proof of electricity service?

You'll get an email confirmation when you sign up that you can use as proof of electricity service. Otherwise, call us at 800-242-9113, and we'll email it to you.
