2/23/2007

TXU Energy and Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) continue a 20-year partnership to help Dallas County residents facing unforeseen financial hardship keep the lights on. Recently, TXU Energy provided the social service agency with a $100,000 donation to help low-income residents with temporary bill payment assistance.

?We graciously recognize and thank TXU Energy for its continuous commitment to support our agency,? said DCHHS Director Zach Thompson. ?For more than 20 years, our relationship with TXU has allowed us to provide bill-payment assistance and relief to many families throughout Dallas County.?

DCHHS protects Dallas County citizens by promoting a healthy community and environment. The TXU Energy Aid program is one tool DCHHS uses to ensure county residents receive the information and services needed to maintain and improve their health and to provide good stewardship of public resources.

?TXU Energy knows making ends meet can be a struggle for many low-income families,? said Jim Burke, CEO of TXU Energy. ?We are committed to working with DCHHS to ensure these families get the assistance they need in order to prevent the risk of jeopardizing the welfare of their families.?

The TXU Energy Aid program helps families in critical situations meet their electricity needs through generous company contributions and customer donations. Since 1983, TXU Energy Aid has provided more than $40 million to selected social service agencies across Texas, helping to provide temporary bill-payment assistance to more than 300,000 local families in need.

TXU Energy customers who want to make a contribution to help others in their community can contact the TXU Energy Aid contribution line at 1-877-281-6359. Customers can also make a one-time contribution or a recurring pledge to TXU Energy Aid by completing the information on the back of their TXU Energy bill. 100% of all customer donations are returned to the local communities in which they are donated to help families in need.
