Why is my online account showing usage on days I was without power?During periods of extended and widespread power outages, utility providers may provide preliminary usage estimates when they can’t read meters. If you’re seeing usage on days your home didn’t have power, it’ll be corrected soon and will not be included on your bill.

What do I do if I lose power?
Take shelter in a safe area and avoid flooded areas or downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, call 911 to report it.

What should I do after my power comes back on?If your power is out for more than four hours, be prepared to throw away any food (particularly meet, poultry, fish, eggs, and leftovers) that is above 40° F or that has an unusual odor, color or texture.

Electrical device and lighting tips:
Use surge protector power strips to help avoid damage and protect your electronics in case the power goes out.
If the power does go out, you can fill a room with ambient lighting by strapping a flash light or head lamp to the top opening of a gallon jug of water.
