Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU)

Your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) is responsible for safely delivering the energy from power plants to your home. Your TDU is determined based on your service address.  Because they maintain the poles and wires in your area, they are responsible for restoring power after an outage. You can find your TDU in the Contact Information section of your bill.

TDU Delivery Charges

You'll notice a line on your bill called "TDU Delivery Charges." Regardless of your TDU, they all charge providers like TXU Energy for delivery. What you see on your bill is exactly what the TDU charges us – we pass them on to you without any markup.

On average, you can expect your TDU Delivery Charges to be about one-third of your monthly bill. Some providers show these charges differently on bills, but TXU Energy separates these charges (except on plans that bundle them with your energy charge) so it's easier to see what you're paying for.

Tips to lower your TDU charges
