Conveniently located between Dallas and Fort Worth, Grand Prairie is a great place for work and play. Once a true prairie town, Grand Prairie now houses some of North Texas’s most popular attractions. From nightlife to family fun, moving to Grand Prairie means there’s something for everyone.

On your first visit, survey the scene, but don’t stop there. Grand Prairie has a lot more to offer than just rolling hills and sprawling landscapes. At night, you can see a concert or show at the Verizon Theater. Or, simply walk across the parking lot and make a day of visiting the state’s most popular horse racing track, Lone Star Park, which hosts live races from April to July. The extravagant Fourth of July celebration is not to be missed, either.

If you love to hunt for bargains, you can find many treasures at Traders Village, a 106-acre flea market with over 1,800 booths. Kids will love the carnival-like atmosphere with smoked turkey legs, rides and toys galore. Adults can find anything from office supplies to farm equipment. Shop around for new jewelry or a couch – just be sure to wear comfortable shoes because you can easily spend the whole day browsing.

Another unique daytime activity for all ages is Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in Grand Prairie. Half of this attraction is a wax museum full of celebrity replicas you can take pictures with. The other half is full of odd facts and quirky displays. Take a stroll through an enchanted mirror maze or stare down giant aluminum dinosaurs.

Finally, for the baseball fan who’s moving to Grand Prairie, don’t miss the chance to cheer for the AirHogs, Grand Prairie’s own minor league baseball team. QuikTrip Park is family-friendly and always a home run when the AirHogs play one of their 50 regular season home games as part of the 100-game schedule, May through September, in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball League.

With so much to do, moving to Grand Prairie is an excellent choice – especially when you’re raising a family.
