An initial meter set fee is required by your local Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP).


I have a temporary meter but need permanent service. 
Please call our dedicated Construction Services Representatives to assist you with your application for permanent service and city inspection requirements from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, at 800-711-9112. Our representatives will also be able to assist you with the removal of your temporary meter.

Please make sure the path is clear between the meter base and the underground transformer, hand hole, or utility pole.


Is a city inspection required? 
Many cities, towns and counties require that an inspection be completed prior to allowing your local Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) to provide requested services. This may also be called a Certificate of Occupancy or Permit.  Click here to determine if your city requires an inspection.

If your city inspection is not received by your local TDSP within 20 days, your application for service will be cancelled and you will be required to submit a new application.

How do I request an underground installation? 
Underground installation responsibility varies by Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP). Please call our dedicated Construction Services Representatives for assistance from 8a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, at 800-711-9112.

Please have the status of your construction (i.e. slab, frame, bricked, complete) available when you call.  TDSP underground installation is typically completed within 7 to 10 business days.  However, external factors such as weather may delay your request.

You may be subject to a trip charge from your local TDSP if the path is not cleared, and they are unable to install your underground service.


Who do I contact if I need to dig on my property?  
Before beginning any type of excavation project on your property, please call the Texas One-Call Center, also known as DIGTESS, toll free at 1-800-344-8377.

It is advisable to call at least two business days before you plan to begin work. TXU Energy is not affiliated with DIGTESS.

Activities on or near utility line routes, such as digging, probing, drilling, blasting or any other type of excavation, can be very dangerous and can cause injuries or damage. State Law requires you call DIGTESS before you dig.
