What do I do if I feel my meter is reading incorrectly?

Many things can cause bill increases, such as extreme temperatures, extra days in your billing cycle, the size/age of your home and the number of people in your home. If you believe your meter is reading inaccurately and you have a smart meter, get an instant meter re-read by logging on to Smart Meter TexasTM, which is owned and operated by Texas Transmission and Distribution Utilities. If you have an analog meter, we can submit a meter re-read request to your TDU on your behalf. If the re-read confirms the meter is accurate, your TDU will charge a service fee (varying from $17 – $23) which will be added to your next bill.
