Ask your landlord for the historical demand and usage for the space. Although peak demand is reset when a new business moves in, the previous tenant’s demand could impact how you’re charged.
Stagger the testing or operation of any equipment (HVAC/motors/pumps). If all equipment is tested or operated at one time, this may set the peak demand for the entire year. You may also want to stagger the times that contractors are completing work in your new space.
