Hurricane Force Winds Cause Widespread Outages to TXU Energy Customers

5/3/2007

The North Texas area is experiencing widespread power outages due to hurricane force winds and heavy storms that moved through the region last evening.

According to Oncor, the transmission and distribution service provider for the majority of North Texas, the outages caused by last night's storm rank as the 5th worst storm to hit the service area. In addition, other transmission and distribution service providers have also experienced numerous outages.

We are working with all of the service providers to have service restored as quickly as possible, but due to the severity of the damage, some customers may not have service restored for several days.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during the restoration period.
