Scott A. Hudson

President

Scott A. Hudson is president of TXU Energy, a market-leading competitive retail electricity provider, powering the lives of more Texans than any other retailer. In addition to serving more than 1.7 million customers, TXU Energy is a top innovator in the market.

The company is helping redefine how consumers and businesses buy and use electricity through products like TXU Energy Free Nights, rooftop and community solar offerings, as well as award-winning customer service technologies. TXU Energy also provides a number of other consumer service solutions, including home warranties and smart thermostats.

Today, Hudson is focused on advancing the company’s vision to be the most trusted, innovative, customer-centric and preferred provider of electricity and related consumer services in the market. With customer experience at the heart of our business, Hudson welcomes feedback to ensure TXU Energy is meeting the needs of its customers. He has successfully managed businesses in consumer-focused and competitive markets, including financial and IT services, for more than 20 years.

Hudson joined TXU Energy in 2011 and served as the company’s chief operating officer with responsibility for sales, marketing, product development, operations and business technology organizations. Prior to joining TXU Energy, Hudson held senior leadership positions with MBNA America, ChoicePoint and LexisNexis. He began his career as a commercial lawyer working in the energy industry for Troutman Sanders LLP, a highly respected international law firm.

Civic Involvement

Outside his responsibilities at TXU Energy, Hudson serves on the Community Impact Grant Committee for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and sits on the board of directors for the Dallas Children’s Theatre.

Education

Hudson has a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his bachelor’s degree from Yale University.

Sydney Seiger

Chief Marketing Officer

Sydney Seiger is chief marketing officer for TXU Energy, a market-leading competitive retail electricity provider, powering the lives of more Texans than any other retailer. TXU Energy offers a variety of innovative products and solutions, allowing both its residential and business customers to choose options that best meet their needs, including exceptional customer service, competitively priced electricity service plans, innovative energy efficiency options, renewable energy programs and other electricity-related products and services. 

Seiger leads TXU Energy’s residential and business marketing and brand strategy, new product development, advertising, digital marketing, direct sales and consumer insights to drive long-term growth. 

Prior to re-joining TXU Energy in 2014, Seiger was vice president of consumer insights, analytics, and business intelligence for La Quinta Holdings Inc. where her focus was marketing strategy, decision support, and assessment. 

Subsequent to her work at La Quinta, Seiger gained broad experience in the retail electric market holding increasing levels of responsibility at Reliant Energy and TXU Energy. Notably, she served as director of consumer insights, brand management and marketing at TXU Energy where she built the consumer insights function and led the development and launch of the new TXU Energy brand in 2010.  

Civic Involvement

Seiger is actively involved in numerous civic activities including the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, where she has served on the Marketing Council, Builder’s Society and Women’s Leadership Steering Committee. She is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pi Beta Phi and Baylor Alumnae Association, and she is a graduate of Leadership Texas.

Education

Seiger holds a doctorate in applied social psychology with an emphasis in quantitative research methodology from Baylor University.

John Duessel

Vice President and Chief Customer Officer

John Duessel is the chief customer officer for TXU Energy, overseeing the teams dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences to TXU Energy’s residential, small- and medium-sized business, and large commercial and industrial customers. Previously, Duessel served as Vice President of revenue operations, where he led the mid- and back-office services organizations.

Prior to joining TXU Energy in 2010, Duessel held senior operational, strategy, and business development roles with FedEx Office and Print Centers, Inc. He also previously worked for TXU Energy as a manager of strategy and finance, where he supported the company’s entry into retail competition in 2002. Earlier in his career, Duessel was an associate attorney with Dechert Price & Rhoads and, later, Morrison and Foerster LLP, where his practice focused on representing investment companies and investment advisers in connection with corporate and securities law matters.

Education

Duessel received a master of business administration from Southern Methodist University, a juris doctor from The Catholic University of America, and a bachelor of science in business administration from Western New England College.

Gabe Castro

Vice President of Business Markets

Gabe Castro is vice president of business markets of TXU Energy, a market-leading competitive retail electricity provider, powering the lives of more Texans than any other retailer. With more than 22 years of experience gained from working in multiple facets of the energy business, Castro is now responsible for energy sales through both direct and indirect channel sales across all lines of business. Additionally, he is also responsible for the strategic development and tactical implementation of customer retention and growth strategies throughout the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), as well as heading up the retail gas sales team. He also oversees product development, demand side management solutions, analytics, sales support, service, and deal structuring.

Castro joined TXU Energy in 1994, and he has taken increased roles and responsibilities across the company’s competitive business markets. From initially working in natural gas transportation, to focusing on the dynamic power market in Texas, to serving as company representative in Mexico City, to his current role as vice president, Castro is a leading member of the TXU Energy team.

Civic Involvement

Castro was recently elected to the board of directors for the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council.

Education

Castro holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree in finance from St. Mary’s University.
