Below is additional information on TDU Delivery Charges

Electricity usage

What are TDU Delivery Charges?

TDU Delivery Charges are what your local Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) company charges each customer (ESI ID) for the cost of maintaining electricity poles & wires, meters, storm restoration, etc. These charges are approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and are passed through to you without any markup – so you’re not paying more than you should for electricity. These charges apply to all residential customers (ESI IDs), serviced by the TDU, regardless of who their retail electricity provider is. The TDU Delivery Charges are displayed under a separate section on the monthly bill under the description “TDU Delivery Charges,” so it's easier to distinguish the TXU Energy charges from your local utility company charges.

Will my bill go up because of these TDU delivery charges?

No – the total average price you pay will be based on the specific charges as set out on the Electricity Facts Label (EFL) you were provided when you enrolled with TXU Energy. The EFL included the applicable base charge and energy charges from TXU Energy and a summary of the current charges from your local TDU. The TDU Delivery Charges are regulated by the state Public Utility Commission. While the TDU Delivery Charges may change over time due to changes in law or regulatory charges, your energy charges and/or base charge from TXU Energy will not change for any reason during the minimum contract period of your term plan, or if you're on a month to month plan your energy charges and/or base charge from TXU Energy will not change without advance notice explaining the change.

Chart

How are the TDU Delivery Charges calculated, and will it be the same amount every month?

Certain TDU charges are billed on a monthly basis, and some are billed on a usage basis (per kilowatt hour). For this reason, the total TDU Delivery Charges amount will vary each month depending on your monthly kilowatt-hour usage. See the table below for an itemized listing of the detailed charges that make up TDU Delivery Charges in your area.
