Weather Tips

Reducing energy usage is good for both the environment and your budget. And it doesn't have to mean big changes to your lifestyle! By just making some small changes to the way you use energy, you can make a big difference.

Heating & Cooling

Heating and cooling are the main energy consumers in your home, accounting for more than 40 cents of every dollar on your monthly bill. You could reduce your air conditioning costs by 8% just by raising your thermostat by 1 degree in the summer. And, lowering your thermostat by 1 degree could reduce your heating bills by 6%.

Windows

Use sunlight wisely. In winter, leave shades and blinds open during sunny, cold days, but close them at night to reduce the amount of heat lost through windows. Use your curtains to help keep warmth inside.
