Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I get extra time to pay my TXU Energy bill?

We do offer payment extensions for some customers. To see if you qualify for a deferral, call us at 800-242-9113. You may also be able through MyAccount.

This short-term option won't change your monthly due date and can't extend beyond the due date of your next invoice. Applicable fees also still apply.

  • How do I report a power outage?
Your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) is responsible for maintaining and servicing power lines. They also restore power during outages, and are your best bet for restoration updates and timeframes. If you have an outage to report, please contact your local TDU.
  • How do I sign up for TXU Energy Account?

It's quick and easy to sign up for a TXU Energy MyAccount. Click here to get started.

Make sure you have the following pieces of information handy:

    • TXU Energy account number(s)
    • Date of birth
    • Mother's maiden name
    • Driver's license number
    • Last four digits of social security number (or Tax ID for sole proprietorship businesses)
    • Email address
  • How I can lower my bill with small energy-efficient changes?

As the temperatures start to climb, the easiest way to minimize energy usage is to raise your thermostat. Setting your thermostat a few degrees higher in the summer will save you money while still maintaining your home at a comfortable temperature.

When temperatures dip, setting your thermostat a few degrees higher in the winter will help. Check out additional ways to save.

You can also avoid seasonal highs and lows in your electricity bill by signing up for TXU Energy Average Monthly Billing. It makes your monthly payments more predictable.

  • I didn't receive my bill. What do I do?
There are several options available to you. If you have already signed up for a MyAccount, just login and view your billing history, payment history, current balance or due date, make a payment, or download and print your bill. Don't have a MyAccount? Create one now. You can also contact us to verify your address and request a duplicate bill.
