Following these steps to set up your electric service account will make your process move along smoothly and quickly.

STEP 1

City Inspection

Two types of inspections may be required before your "Move In" service request can be completed.

  • Certificate of Occupancy (CO)
  • City Meter Inspection

Ordering these inspections prior to calling
TXU Energy will help expedite your service request.

Please click here to determine if your city requires either inspection.

Inspection certification sent to Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP)

Your city inspector will provide your inspection results to your local Transmission and Distribution Service Provider within 3 to 5 business days of your inspection request.


If your TDSP does not receive notification of the CO or inspection permit within 20 business days of your account set-up, your service request will be cancelled.

STEP 2

Call TXU Energy to establish service

You'll need the following information when setting up your account:

  • Legal name of company
  • Type of company, DBA information
  • Tax ID, Social Security or driver?s
    license number
  • Telephone and fax number
  • Email Address
  • Service address, Billing address
  • Contact person on account
  • Desired effective date of service

      A deposit may be required
