Michael Carter
Chief Financial Officer TXU Energy
Carter was promoted to CFO in June 2008. His team provides strong and broad financial leadership to the company and is responsible for the company's accounting, planning, risk management/controls, load forecasting and energy procurement functions.
Prior to joining TXU Energy, Carter was vice president and controller for Luminant, the competitive power generation subsidiary of EFH. Previously, as the company's assistant controller, business development for EFH, he played a leading role in the closing of
Before joining EFH, Carter was director, transaction services with KPMG, where he provided financial due diligence and technical accounting advice to clients in several industries. Prior to KPMG, he worked for companies in the deregulated energy business.
Carter is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant.
