Carl S. Richie Jr. is Vice President of Government Affairs at TXU Energy. He has nearly three decades of experience working in and around local, state and federal government, including serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to former Governor Ann Richards.
Prior to joining TXU Energy, Richie represented major Texas municipalities and several energy and customer focused companies before the Texas legislature and state regulatory agencies. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and the St. Edwards University School of Behavioral Sciences.
Richie received his B.S. in 1981 from the Texas A&M at Commerce and his J.D. in 1989 from the University of Houston Law Center.
