David Hennekes

Vice President, Consumer Markets
TXU Energy

David Hennekes is the Vice President of Consumer Markets at TXU Energy, where he leads the consumer business unit. He brings 10 years of diverse energy industry expertise, including seven years in the deregulated Texas electric market.

Prior to joining TXU Energy in 2004, Hennekes led a variety of retail areas and drove operations improvement at Reliant Energy. And before that, he led merger and acquisition projects in the US and Latin America for LG&E Energy, as well as serving on the boards of directors of LG&E Energy's affiliated companies in Argentina.

Fluent in Spanish, Hennekes served as a US Peace Corps volunteer from 1993 to 1996, taking some time off before graduate school to work as a consultant to development organizations in Chile.

Hennekes is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree with magna cum laude honors.
