John Geary

Vice President, Innovation
TXU Energy


John Geary leads the Innovation business of TXU Energy, Energy Future Holdings (EFH) Corp.'s competitive retail business.

Geary's current responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of the demand side management initiatives designed to promote energy conservation and management among TXU Energy customers. In addition, Geary is responsible for building and driving the change management organization.  This area includes developing and implementing initiatives to increase performance and improve efficiency across all aspects of TXU Energy.

Previously, Geary was the senior director of residential channel sales for TXU Energy.  He was directly accountable for originating more than one billion in new customer sales in 2008. Geary also served as director of product development and management and director of business strategy for TXU Energy. Geary participated in the EFH High Potential program, which is designed to further develop the business skills and competencies of EFH’s future executives.

Prior to joining TXU Energy, Geary was employed by Import Vericals.com as vice president of business development and strategy. He also worked for McKinsey & Company as an engagement manager and Deliotte & Touche as a senior consultant.  Geary also served as commodity options trader for Kottke Associate, Inc for the Chicago Board of Trade and served as a consultant at Monitor Company.

He received a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin with concentrations in marketing and finance, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering Summa cum laude from the University of Michigan.

Geary resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife and their two sons.
