TXU Energy is the sponsor of the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project's solar energy education program - TXU Energy Solar Academy^SM, which helps local schools bring solar technology and energy lessons to the classroom. TXU Energy and NEED will educate more than 36,000 students on renewable energy through science, geography and math. Approximately 40 school districts will receive a free 1-kW solar array that will be Web-based and show real-time data on how much electricity is being generated. Classrooms will receive hands-on energy experiments and TEKS tested curriculum from NEED. Learn more

Committed to Community

TXU Energy is dedicated to environmental stewardship. We help maintain the TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm, the largest non-profit urban tree farm in the nation. Throughout 2007, TXU Energy and community volunteers planted approximately 10,000 trees, which will eventually be provided to neighborhood associations, schools, non-profit organizations, various cities and government entities statewide. Energy Audits

TXU Energy maintains a competitive edge in the industry by hosting In-Home and Business Energy Audits statewide. TXU Energy conservation experts provide residential and business consumers with detailed energy audits and basic information on ways to reduce energy consumption and lower electricity bills.

For the past six years, TXU Energy has partnered with local youth groups and senior volunteer organizations to promote energy conservation awareness and help low-income customers in need of energy assistance. TXU Energy's Home Energy Makeover program gives local residents in various communities throughout Texas the opportunity to learn how to save energy and reduce the costs of electric bills.

By supporting clean-air initiatives, increasing our renewable energy portfolio, providing smart-usage products and services, and helping customers reduce and better manage their energy consumption, we're working to keep our air clean and our environment healthy now - and for generations to come.
