Corporate Programs

At TXU Energy, we believe in contributing to the local communities in which we serve. Growing relationships with customers, local communities and third-party organizations is vital to our employees and is the base on which our company is built. Our commitment to corporate social responsibility unites us as an organization, strengthens our reputation and creates vital links with the communities we serve. As a continuous community partner, TXU Energy and our dedicated employees share their time, talents, and resources with organizations and initiatives that truly make a difference in our local communities.

TXU Energy AidSM

In order to help families in critical situations meet their electricity needs, TXU Energy developed a long-standing, successful community assistance initiative called TXU Energy AidSM. Since 1983, TXU Energy AidSM has provided more than $51 million in bill-payment assistance, helping more than 340,000 families throughout the state of Texas.
TXU Energy also helps with local fundraising efforts, contributing approximately $5 for every $1 donated. All of the funds collected are returned to the local community in which they were given.

Energy Assistance Workshop

For eight consecutive years, TXU Energy has hosted Energy Assistance Workshops for hundreds of social service organizations statewide. Through these workshops, TXU Energy provides partnering organizations education and training regarding electric service and assistance plans, including general information about the company, the transforming electricity market, service plans, and TXU Energy's commitment to the community, especially TXU Energy Aid and the TXU Energy Low-Income Assistance program.

Committed to Community Growth

In order to support its Committed to Community Growth program, TXU Energy partners with Texas Trees Foundation to maintain the TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm, the largest urban tree farm in the nation. Throughout 2007, TXU Energy and community volunteers planted approximately 10,000 trees, which will eventually be provided to neighborhood associations, schools, non-profit organizations, various cities and government entities statewide.
