Energy Conservation
As a leader in energy conservation, TXU Energy continuously educates hundreds of thousands of consumers on the importance of conserving energy through various initiatives like Energy Audits and Home Energy Makeovers, Become Your Own Personal Energy Manager presentations, and statewide initiatives like Beat the Heat and Holiday Cents. In addition to distributing approximately 88,000 compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs and 5,000 LED night lights, all programs demonstrate simple and low-cost energy conservation improvements consumers can make to reduce energy consumption, lower monthly electric bills and reduce the state's demand for electricity.
Energy Audits
TXU Energy maintains a competitive edge in the industry by hosting In-Home and Business Energy Audits statewide. TXU Energy conservation experts provide residential and business consumers with detailed energy audits and basic information on ways to reduce energy consumption and lower electricity bills.
Home Energy Makeovers
For the past six years, TXU Energy has partnered with local youth groups and senior volunteer organizations to promote energy conservation awareness and help low-income customers in need of energy assistance. TXU Energy's Home Energy Makeover program gives local residents in various communities throughout Texas the opportunity to learn how to save energy and reduce the costs of electric bills.
TXU Energy employees and volunteers make energy conservation improvements to homes and share simple and affordable tips that anyone can implement.
Beat the Heat
For nearly a decade, TXU Energy has partnered with several social service organizations and local Meals On Wheels affiliates to promote heat safety awareness and energy conservation throughout the community, especially among senior citizens during the hot summer months. In 2007, TXU Energy hosted Beat the Heat workshops at more than 30 senior citizens centers statewide and collaborated with Visiting Nurse Association, Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County, Catholic Charities of Tarrant County, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston and others to distribute approximately 15,000 compact fluorescent light bulbs and heat safety information

Become Your Own Personal Energy Manager Workshops
TXU Energy Community Relations managers present several Become Your Own Personal Energy Manager workshops statewide at various Lion's Clubs, Rotary Divisions, Kiwanis, senior centers and many other community-based organizations educating consumers on ways to control energy consumption and monthly electric bills.
Holiday Cents
With the Holiday Cents initiative, TXU Energy partners with various city and neighborhood organizations, local community businesses and social service organizations statewide. In conjunction with partnering organizations, TXU Energy educates consumers on sensible and low-cost ways to conserve energy throughout the winter holiday season when electric bills tend to increase as a result of holiday decorating, holiday cooking and extreme changes in temperatures

Energy Conservation Kit Donations
TXU Energy donates energy conservation kits, which contain simple and low cost energy saving tools, to partnering social service organizations to better assist TXU Energy customers with lowering their electric costs and conserving energy. TXU Energy's conservation kits contain energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs, caulking, foam insulator light switch and receptacle plates, outlet plugs, weather stripping and more.
